Look at this young buck on your page!

A fresh-faced Gareth Southgate took over the reins at England while they were in ruin. What an eight years that have followed.

There was the waistcoat era where he installed hope back in the nation with a run to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals.

Then three years later, we all thought it was coming home as Southgate guided the Three Lions to a first tournament final since 1966, but Italy broke English hearts at Wembley in the Euro 2020 final.

A quarter-final defeat at the Qatar World Cup followed, and then the heartbreak in Berlin that the country is just recovering from.

It's been one hell of a ride, now have a look at it in photos. They capture the essence of a topsy-turvy, but brilliant, journey.
