Deals have been accelerating in Europe once players have been knocked out of Euro 2024, with Joshua Zirkzee nearing a move to Manchester United for more than £34m after England beat the Netherlands on Wednesday.
Instead of meeting his £34m release clause, the Red Devils are set to pay £35.8m for the Netherlands international, who was pictured leaving Manchester Airport in a car after landing on Thursday night.
Despite paying £1.8m more than they have to, it means the Old Trafford can pay the fee over three years instead of in one lump sum.
United are closing in on deals for Zirkzee and Matthijs De Ligt now the Netherlands are out of the Euros.
