After several reports online of an active shooter at the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, Tennessee, Metro Nashville Police Department said there was 'no evidence of any gunfire.'
Witnesses said they heard gunshots and saw large crowds running out of the building as police and first responders rushed to the scene, radio host Todd Coconato said.
However, MNPD confirmed the chaos was linked to a fight inside the popular mall, causing a rushed mass exodus of the building.
MNPD and Nashville Fire remain on the scene investigating. There are no reports of injuries at this time.
Shoppers have been urged to shelter in place as authorities investigate the scene.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are on-site, as well as several emergency vehicles.
Officials are reportedly urging the public to avoid the area. Exit 11 North and Southbound to the mall are both currently closed due to the investigation, NewsChannel5 Nashville reported.
