A nine-year-old Amish girl has died after she was dragged by a horse in Pennsylvania.

The girl died at a Salisbury Township farm on Tuesday after being pulled by the horse for about a quarter of a mile, according to the coroner's office.

She had been training the horse with a lead wrapped around her wrist when the animal became spooked and took off, taking her along, as reported by WGAL.

The child was taken to Lancaster General Hospital where she died.

Her cause of death is believed to be multiple traumatic injuries.

The coroner's office has not identified the girl.

It's the second farm-related death of an Amish child this month in Pennsylvania.

A three-year-old boy was killed on June 3 after he touched ventilation machinery in a  barn, as reported by LNP

Lancaster County has more farm-related deaths than any other county in the state, per the local outlet.

The county has seen between one to seven farm deaths a year since 2000, with children being the most likely victims.
