A fight outside a high-end California restaurant on April 26 between a patron and sidewalk instigators has gone viral on social media.

The brawl at Porta Via in Beverly Hills happened at the restaurant's outdoor eating section, close to the sidewalk on Canon Drive, a post from the restaurant said.

A group of individuals equipped with face masks, dressed in black and carrying cameras started harassing patrons.

One individual who was dining got involved in what started as a tense verbal altercation.

In a video on X that appeared to be taken by a hostess, the instigator was holding a phone up and arguing with the patron.

The masked man goaded him to fight, threatening him to 'pull that sh*t again' and asking if he 'wanted his a** beat right now'.

The taller patron told him to put his phone down, but he proceeded to lob insults at him, calling him a 'James Bond motherf**ker' and saying he was insecure.

The man then tried to swat the phone out of his hand which led the masked man to make a wooing sound - to attempt to catch him off guard while he swung a punch.

This appeared to have been a mistake as the patron - adorned in a brown suit - stepped back, dodged and then threw a right hook.

The agitator immediately hit the ground, almost knocking over a patio heater.

In a separate video from Street People Media that shows a different angle of the fight, after the lights-out punch was thrown, the patron said 'lets go b**ch' to the other agitators who still stood there filming.

Originally Street People Media reported the man who fought was a manager at the restaurant, but Porta Via clarified in a Instagram post that none of their workers were involved.

The restaurant wrote: 'One of the patrons became involved in a physical altercation with the group. He was not an employee nor a manager as has been recently falsely reported.

Fox 11 reported the group were Pro-Hamas supporters

'At the time, police were called and charges were not pressed by anyone involved, and while unfortunate, the matter was closed.'

A man with the username arget_s claims to be the one who gave the haymaker. He commented under the post: 'That’s actually me and not the manager! I was standing up for the people being bullied. Thank you for sharing!'

He did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com

Users said they'd seen this same masked group around the city - with many calling them first amendment auditors - meaning they are alleged rage baiters.

Fox 11 reported the group were Pro-Hamas supporters.

One user said: 'They did it to my businesses and months later we still get harassed by prank calls.'

Another said: 'Yes baby! I’ve seen these guys around Beverly Hills. They instigate people to respond like that. Love it.'
