President Joe Biden sharpened his racially-charged attack on former President Donald Trump during Sunday night's annual NAACP Detroit Branch Freedom Fund dinner.

'What do you think he would have done on January 6 if black Americans had stormed the Capitol?' Biden asked - as members of the crowd collectively gasped.

The president then added, 'No, I'm serious. What do you think? I can only imagine,' as Trump has long promised to pardon those involved in the 2021 Capitol attack if he's elected to a second term in November.

Biden's appearance at the 5,000-strong Detroit dinner capped off two days of travel dedicated to outreach to black voters in two key swing states - Georgia and Michigan

Earlier, Biden was the keynote speaker at Morehouse College in Atlanta and hit Trump on his record on race there too, pointing out how he called January 6 rioter's holding Confederate flats 'patriots' and noting how they beat up black police officers and veterans that day.

President Joe Biden sharpened his racial attack on former President Donald Trump during Sunday night's annual NAACP Detroit Branch Freedom Fund dinner

'Extremists close the doors of opportunity, strike down affirmative action, attack the values of diversity, equality and inclusion,' he said.

'They don't see you in the future of America, but they're wrong,'  Biden continued. 'We know black history is American history. We know black men are going to lead us into the future.'

In Michigan, in front of a crowd of approximately 5,000 people, the president told the group he told the Morehouse graduates that 'I saw them, I heard them, the nation needs them, they're the future of this country.'

He credited voters of color for electing him - and predicted they would do it again.

'You're the reason Donald Trump is the defeated former president,' Biden said.

'You're the reason Donald Trump is going to be the loser again,' the president added to cheers.

The Democrat also touted his own record on race - pointing to the appointment of the first black female Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

'Let me ask you, who do you think he'll put on the Supreme Court?' Biden asked. 'Do you think he'll put someone on with a brain?'

Biden again used the language that Trump 'snapped' after being defeated in the 2020 election and became 'unhinged.'

President Joe Biden poses for a photo Sunday during a campaign stop in Detroit, Michigan at CRED Cafe. He took a lighter touch with former President Donald Trump than he has at recent appearances

Earlier in Detroit, the president dropped by CRED Cafe, owned by the Crawford family, including NBA players Joe and Jordan Crawford, and is a coffee shop by day and a speakeasy at night.

The president worked the room and was more diplomatic about Trump than he has been at recent appearances.

At CRED, Biden swatted at Trump for all the rollbacks the Republican has planned.

'The bottom line is the guy we're running against wants to back up all the prospects - all the progress we've made,' the president said.

'This guy's a different breed of cat, not your typical Republican,' Biden also said.

The president has been on the road since Saturday on a two swing-state swing - attending events with voters in both Georgia and Michigan.
