As the European royals flocked to the Olympic Games in Paris they marked the occasion with beaming selfies to remember the sporting event. 

Queen Letizia, 51, and King Felipe, 56, appeared in great spirits as they posed up a storm from the stands at the opening ceremony last weekend. 

Meanwhile their daughters Princess Leonor, 18, and Infanta Sofía, 17, followed suit by taking numerous selfies throughout the historic games.

Elsewhere Queen Máxima of the Netherlands shared a fun selfie with her lookalike eldest daughter Princess Amalia, 20, while watching the rowing semi-final on Wednesday. 

Danish monarchs Queen Mary and King Frederik snapped a stunning picture with the Eiffel Tower behind them minutes before the opening ceremony.

The Spanish royals beamed for a sweet selfie as they enjoyed the opening ceremony from the stands before the heavens opened last weekend. 

King Felipe made sure to capture the historic moment with the Queen as the pair beamed for a selfie. 

Letizia looked typically glamorous in a floral gown by Carolina Herrera that she debuted in July 2023.

Her brunette locks were styled in a sleek straight centre parting and her glamorous makeup enhanced her flawless features. 

Meanwhile Felipe beamed next to his stunning wife as he donned a smart pinstripe suit which he paired with a floral tie.

The Dutch royal and her eldest daughter, Amalia, donned their native colour orange as they posed for a spontaneous selfie while watching the rowing semi-final on Wednesday. 

Máxima appeared relaxed and in great spirits as she enjoyed the games with her lookalike daughter. 

She donned a white vest top and an orange sun ht in support of the Netherlands team. 

Her shoulder length golden hair was worn down at her sides, perfectly framing her beaming smile and subtle silver earrings.

The royal wore her typical make-up, showing off her glowing skin with a natural base and subtle eye-look to emphasise her stunning features.

Meanwhile Amalia donned an orange T shirt and added a little glamour with gold chunky hoop earrings.

The Danish royals, who took the throne for the first time at the beginning of the year, put on a loved-up display during their time at the Paris Olympics.

The pair wanted to capture the opening ceremony with a selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower. 

Sharing the snap on their official Instagram page, they wrote: 'Friendship, solidarity and fair play are the foundations of the Olympic spirit, which in the coming weeks will bring together nations from all over the world for the world's greatest sporting event. 

'The strong community that was felt at the Olympic Games has always meant something special to both of us, just as experiencing the Olympic atmosphere together again evokes wonderful memories. 

'We are already ready on the Seine for the grand opening ceremony. We wish our Danish athletes all the best.'

The Danish royals actually met at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, therefore it holds a special place in their hearts.

Princess Leonor, 18, and her younger sister Infanta Sofia put on a glamorous display at the games and were pictured smiling and chatting as they watched Beach Volleyball.

The pair looked engrossed in the game as they clapped enthusiastically from the stands at the Eiffel Tower Stadium before snapping a fun selfie to march the occasion. 

Leonor - who is the heir to the Spanish throne - was snapped in a navy polo shirt with the colours of her country's flag around the hem of the sleeves. 

She paired with a pair of white trousers and her pink Paris Olympic games lanyard and gold earrings.

Sofia donned a simple yet stylish ensemble consisting of a white polo shirt and a pair of trendy light-washed denim jeans.

The pair donned clear plastic ponchos which were soaking wet as they beamed for the sweet snap. 

Maria Teresa took to Instagram to share the picture with royal fans, writing: 'Despite the rain, the atmosphere is great!'
