Drunk university boss who called cops because she needed to pee gives them astonishing excuse for why she's able to drive home drunk

A director at Kent State University had an embarrassing arrest after calling the police because she needed to go to the bathroom.

Dr Ellen Glickman is a School Director & Professor at the Kent State University School of Health Sciences and has been with the school since 1995.

On May 9, Glickman was recorded by police bodycam outside Nixson Hall, home to her department at around 10:30pm.

She explained that she had just come from the school's commencement ceremony and couldn't find the right key, despite claiming to have a Master Key to use the bathroom.

The officer eventually says on video he won't allow her to drive back because of the alcohol smell.

She protests, saying the only reason she couldn't get her card to get her in the door is because the card wasn't working. He says that she's scanning two cards at once.

'I had a drink,' she responds, emphasizing the singular and adding that 'you can smell a little alcohol on me, that's fine'. 

He lets Glickman go inside to relieve herself and waits for her to return, asking if she has someone she could call.

Glickman says her husband but says she won't do it, adding 'this is not okay' before coming up with an incredible excuse for why she could drive herself. 

'I'm okay to drive, I have a Tesla,' she says. 

The officer, bemused, responds that the Tesla still needs someone to drive, before Glickman threatens to call his captain. 

Later on, after Glickman uses the bathroom, she continues to threaten to report the officer, to which he simply says 'that's fine'. 

Another officer arrives and the original informs him of the humor of the situation.

Eventually, Glickman comes off and continues to protest, as the officer starts to explain why she can't.

She starts to lead them across the office and at some point, because furious: 'you guys f***ed me up!' 

Finally, the two officers detain her as Glickman finally promises to call her husband. The arresting officer can be heard saying: 'too late'.

Glickman complains on most of the ride over, again threatening to call the officer's commander. 

She is eventually detained to her protestations. 

Glickman was charged with being intoxicated create risk of harm, essentially, drunk and disorderly.

It is not clear if she has been punished by the university she has served for nearly three decades. 

'We are aware of this incident. We do not comment on personnel matters,' a spokesperson for the university told DailyMail.com.
