Four people are killed in mass shooting in Florence, Kentucky - with three more victims fighting for their lives in ICU

Four people have been killed and another three left fighting for their lives following a mass shooting in Kentucky.

Cops were called to the 2600 block of Ridgecrest Drive in Florence just before 3am.

The suspect led police on a wild chase, before turning the gun on himself. 

On arrival, police found four people dead and three other critically injured victims who were taken to the ICU at UC Hospital.

The gunman had fled the scene by the time they arrived, but was later spotted leading to a pursuit.

The chase ended on Dale Heimbrock Way, when the suspect crashed into a ditch, FOX19 reports.

When the cops got to his vehicle, he had sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  

He was taken to St. Elizabeth where he later died. No details about his identity have been released yet.

A heavy police presence remains at the scene amid the ongoing investigation.
