Furious Scottie Scheffler F-bomb heard on live TV as PGA Tour star loses his cool after wayward shot

Scottie Scheffler was left seething after a wayward shot at Friday's PGA Tour event in Denver, with TV mics picking up the world No 1 golfer embarking on a furious tirade.

Scheffler dropped an F-bomb on the course after two dreadful efforts on the 10th hole at the BMW Championship, the first of which flew straight into the water.

And when he bungled his next swing, the two-time Masters champion and Olympic gold medalist let the red mist descended as he launched into an expletive rant on live TV.

He first asked caddie Ted Scott: 'Is that not an upslope? Seriously?'

Scheffler then fumed: 'How is that possible? How? HOW?! How is that possible? What the f**k?'

As he got up near the hole, Scheffler was unable to turn things around after taking three more strokes to find the cup and recording a double bogey.

However, in the end he managed to recover and go on to finish the round with 72, which has left him tied in 29th place on the leaderboard.

The meltdown in Denver was not the first time Scheffler has lashed out on the course of late, nevertheless.

Just last week he was seen making his frustrations known after an embarrassing shot in his first PGA Tour event since winning an Olympic gold medal in Paris this summer.

At TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, Scheffler's tee shot at the 13th found a bunker 185 yards from the pin. His second shot failed to find the green, suffering a similar sandy fate. 

Faced with getting up and down from the trap to the right of the green, the 28-year-old splashed out over the pin with his ball coming to a stop 13 feet away from the hole. 

Despite his shot safely finding the dancefloor and setting up a good look at a par save, though, he was less than impressed. 

Scheffler immediately slammed his club into the bunker before his ball could even land, before furiously kicking the sand to cover his tracks and shaking his head in disgust. 

As he exited the sand trap, he took one last aim at the ground with his club before striding away.
