Speculation is mounting that Naomi Biden is expecting her first child and could make President Joe Biden a great-grandfather at a time when age is under the microscope.

The eldest Biden grandchild and husband Peter Neal have not formally announced a pregnancy but it was ‘the talk of the state dinner’ last week, according to sources in the room. Naomi, 30, is said to be due before the November election.

The East Wing did not deny the speculation in mulitple inquiries from DailyMail.com made over the past two days.

Kathleen Buhle, Naomi’s mother, didn’t deny the speculation when contacted by DailyMail.com. She responded she ‘doesn’t speak to the press.’

It would be the first great-grandchild for Joe and Jill Biden, who have seven grandchildren.

Naomi, who is known for wearing fitted clothes to her slim figure, has donned loose fitting gowns to the last two formal occasions at the White House.

As she and Neal entered the state dinner for Kenya last week, Neal appeared to be gesturing at his wife’s stomach as they posed for photos.

As she leaned into him, what appeared to be a baby bump was seen in her long, roomy pleated metallic cape and dress set from Diana Ayad

The speculation is that Naomi Biden - seen with husband Peter Neal at last week's state dinner - is pregnant

Online speculation about her condition began last month when Naomi wore a loose-fitting gown covered in cherry blossoms to a state dinner for Japan

It has only ramped up since then.

Naomi has been coy about the matter.

She posed for photos with her handbag placed strategically over her stomach at the Japanese state dinner. She repeated the pose when she attended the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner a week later.

The baby would be the first Biden great-grandchild, giving President Biden the moniker of ‘great-grandpa’ as he heads into the November election. The grandkids call him ‘Pops.’

The news comes as voters have expressed concern about Biden's age as he seeks a second term.

An NBC poll last month found that the idea that Biden 'may not have the necessary mental and physical health to be president for a second term' was a top concern for voters.

Peter Neal and Naomi Biden have been married two years

President Biden turns 82 in November. He is the oldest American ever elected president.

The White House has tried to turn questions about Biden's age into an argument that he is the most experienced person to hold the office.

But voters continue to fret in a way about Biden that they don't about Trump, who is 77. If Biden wins a second term, he would be 86 at its completion.

While many presidents have also been grandfathers - such as George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan - it's unclear the last time a great-grandfather sat in the Oval Office.

Naomi Biden is the eldest daughter of Hunter Biden and his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle.

She and Peter Neal married in an opulent ceremony on the White House lawn on November 19, 2022. She was the first presidential grandchild to be married at the White House.

Naomi's sisters Finnegan and Maisey were part of the ceremony as was her half-brother Beau, who is the son of her father's second wife Melissa Cohen.

Naomi and her sisters are often seen holding Beau at family events and at the White House.

She works as a lawyer in Washington D.C.

She and Neal lived in the White House ahead of their wedding. They now live in Georgetown.
