Jennifer Lopez looks glum as she steps out for some comfort food at pizza restaurant amid looming DIVORCE from husband Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez looked glum as she was spotted at a pizza restaurant on July 27, as it's revealed she and husband Ben Affleck are filing for divorce.

The singer, 55, and the actor, 51, are pushing ahead with divorce after a final attempt at reconciliation in recent weeks failed.

Sources told DailyMail.com that the couple's divorce documents 'are finalized, but not yet turned in'.

And Jennifer stepped out amid her marriage fall-out to enjoy some comfort food at a pizza eatery in New York.

She looked invested in her phone as she enjoyed an alfresco luncheon with two male pals after her birthday week of celebrations.

Jennifer appeared downcast as she sat slouched over the table, shielding her face with large sunglasses.  

The news of her looming divorce follows Ben buying a new $20.5 million 'bachelor pad' mansion in the Pacific Palisades on Wednesday, July 24, the day Jennifer turned 55. 

Friends of JLo claimed Ben's sudden bachelor pad purchase on her birthday had been a 'stab to the heart'. 

His purchase came days after the couple listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68 million.

July 24 also marked the day JLo also finalized the sale of her four-bedroom New York City penthouse for $23 million, People reported.

‘They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago, but are waiting for the right time to drop them,' one source close to the duo claimed. 

'At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn't.

'Honestly, in the end they could not come to a compromise. What they had before is gone and they have both accepted it,' another source claimed.

The pair were last pictured together on March 30. They have since spent the summer apart; Jennifer largely on the east coast while Ben remains at home in Los Angeles.

They even spent their second wedding anniversary on July 16th in different cities.

Reports of Ben and Jennifer's marital woes began circulating in May when a sources close to the couple reported Ben had moved into a $100,000 rental and the couple intended to sell their 'dream home'.

Ben's home was just a short drive from ex-wife Jennifer Garner's Brentwood house. 

The couple were married from 2005 to 2018, and share children Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. 

Ben's bachelor pad is more like a multi-million mansion with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, with breakfast and dining areas, as well as a separate family room, den, walk-in closets, media room, powder room and even a guest house.

The home was designed by architect Cliff May. The penthouse Jennifer sold is a four-bedroom, 7.5-bath duplex. 

Ben and JLo, who bought their dream home for $60 million in May 2023, haven't found any immediate buyers. 

Reports of the couple's marital woes began circulating in May after the pair hadn't been seen together since late March. 

A source told In Touch at the time: 'Ben already moved out and they'll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for.

'They'll never stop loving each other, but she can't control him, and he can't change her. There's no way it could have lasted.'

One of Jennifer's LA-based friends told the Daily Mail: 'If it is only a question of putting the work in then you had better believe that [Jen] will turn it around.

'She has thrown her heart and soul into her love story with Ben and will not give it up without a fight,' the source added. 'From what I hear there is still a lot of love there, so there must be hope.'

JLo and Ben tied the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022. They said 'I do' again in a more lavish ceremony the following month in Georgia of 2022.
