A Louisville police officer involved in Scottie Scheffler's infamous arrest from earlier this year was arrested himself on Friday - which fans believe is a clear example of 'karma'.

Officer Javar Downs was charged with official misconduct and theft after reportedly stealing $1,000 or greater, as he was accused of pocketing $4,000 from a suspect thrown into jail, according to Wave 3 News.

Louisville police communications later disclosed that Downs has been placed on emergency suspension and faces termination from the department, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported.

Later on Friday afternoon, the Kentucky cop's official police mugshot was released - three months after Scheffler's own version went viral.

'Allegations of officer malfeasance are taken very seriously,' LMPD communications director Angela Ingram told the outlet.

Louisville police officer Javar Downs was arrested, Friday, facing multiple charges against him

Scheffler was booked over a traffic issue, but charges were later dropped by Louisville Police

'LMPD prioritizes accountability and remains committed to conducting thorough and expedient investigations in the best interests of all parties involved.'

Ingram revealed that a civilian had come forward with a complaint against Downs.

In May, Scheffler was arrested ahead of the second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla due to a misunderstanding about road traffic following a fatal accident involving a shuttle bus and a pedestrian at the major.

Charges were eventually dropped. Soon after his arrest, Scheffler made it out of jail on time to tee up and play in incredible round of golf.

That's not to say that the whole ordeal didn't affect him, as well as his reputation.

However, fans believe Downs' arrest three months later is proof of 'karma' existing.

One wrote on X: 'KARMA IS A B***H'.

Downs admitted that he did not have his body camera on during Scheffler's arrest at Valhalla

'Isn’t karma such a treat???' said another.

A third put: 'KARMA 101'.

While one simply commented: 'Well well well'.

Shortly after he was cleared of wrongdoing, Scheffler wrote in a statement: 'I wish to put this incident behind me and move on, and I hope he will do the same.

'Police officers have a difficult job and I hold them to high regard. This was a severe miscommunication in a chaotic situation.'

Downs later admitted that he did not have his body camera on at the scene where Scheffler was arrested. Body camera activation is part of the LMPD's arrest protocol.
