Simone Biles claps back at nasty trolls who branded her hair a 'hot mess' at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Simone Biles has clapped back at nasty trolls who branded her locks a 'hot mess' at the Paris Olympics, warning them not to 'comment on a black girls' hair.'

The acclaimed athlete, 27, has been making waves at the 2024 Games, leading Team USA to a top score of 172.296 during the qualifying round of the team gymnastics competition on Sunday.

But after her epic performance, X, formerly Twitter, was flooded with unkind posts about the way that her tresses were styled.

One person said the Olympic gold medalist looked like she 'just rolled out of bed,' while another tweeted that her hairstyle was 'sloppy' - but Simone had a fierce message for her haters.

She took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to respond to the negative responses, and the sports star was not happy with people talking about her appearance.

'Don't come for me about my hair,' she scathed.

Simone explained that while she had her hair 'done' before the event, she had to take a 45-minute bus ride in the extreme heat with no air-conditioning.

'It was done but bus has no AC and it's like 9,000 degrees,' continued the gymnast, as she shared a video of herself sitting on the bus and holding a portable fan up to her face.

'Oh and it's a 45-minute ride.'

In a second post, she added, 'Gonna hold your hand when I say this.

'Next time you wanna comment on a black girl's hair, just don't.'

Simone topped the all-around with the highest scores on floor and vault, despite suffering from a calf injury.

But afterwards, social media users discussed her hairstyle in droves.

'I'm confused. Did Simone Biles purposely not do her hair? Every single gymnast clearly has their hair gel/sprayed down and in a tight beat appearance,' one critic wrote.

'Her bun is literally flopping around with pieces sloppy everywhere. It almost seems... on purpose. WTF.'

'Simone Biles hair never being done properly be pissing me off,' announced another hater.

'Everybody else on the team is put together, then she looks like she just rolled out of bed.'

'Simone Biles' hairstylist should be fired,' read a third tweet, while a fourth one said, 'Simone Biles really needs to have a word with whoever did her hair.'

Others, however, had Simone's back as one fan tweeted, 'I really wish people would stop talking about Simone's hair while she's actively breaking records.'

'If one more person asks why Simone Biles' hair is messy... She is quite literally flying and flipping in the damn air,' scathed a different user.

'Everyone worried about Simone's hair really is concerned about the wrong thing. Keep soaring queen,' gushed another supporter.

But some fans defended her hair on social media

'I hate people, especially women, who comment on Simone Biles' hair,' wrote one person.

'Because y'all are not out there doing damn flips and winning medals.'

The Americans are heavily favored to win gold after finishing runner-up to Russia in Tokyo three years ago.

The 27-year-old famously withdrew from many events at the 2020 games in Tokyo, after she stumbled during her vault.

She later said she was suffering from something called 'the twisties' - a mental block that causes gymnasts to feel like they are 'lost in the air.'

The athlete has also hinted that the incident had to do with the sexual abuse she had suffered at the hands of pedophile doctor Larry Nassar

She was one of more than 150 gymnasts who were abused by Larry, the former national team doctor, during his 30-year career, and in 2019, she said the trauma of the assaults had left her struggling with suicidal thoughts.
