One man allegedly forced the boy into the back seat of his Jeep and drove off after  the child threw a rock at the vehicle.

The boy's shocked parents jumped into their cars and followed the accused kidnapper's car.

The occupants of the Jeep were allegedly brandishing machetes and fought with the 10-year-old's parents

Screams could be heard as the boy's father raced up to the Jeep and tried to open the door.

The 10-year-old's mother repeatedly yelled 'that's my son!'

The three occupants of the Jeep then jumped out allegedly armed with machetes and a fight broke out between the boy's parents and his alleged kidnappers.

The mother was heard yelling:  'Someone help, help. They stole my kid'.

The boy's 35-year-old father was  knocked unconscious while his mother's leg was run over, 9 News reported.

The altercation lasted just under five minutes.

The boy wasn't injured in the incident.

Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Chris Stream said: 'There will be a number of allegations which police will allege occurred involving interactions between those three persons, a 10-year-old child and also persons (who) were related to that 10-year-old child.'

'Currently they’re allegations but obviously, really scary for a child to be involved in that type of (alleged) incident – as you would appreciate also very scary for parents involved, having a child allegedly abducted.'
