Following a loss in March Madness to end their season, the Iowa State women's basketball team received some words of encouragement from a famous alum.
In a very close contest on Monday night, the seven-seed Cyclones of Iowa State played a game against two-seed Stanford to overtime.
There, Iowa State fell 87-81 to the Cardinal - getting outscored 21-15 in overtime.
But after the defeat, they were met in the locker room by San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback and former Iowa State football player Brock Purdy.

'You guys are some freaking ballers,' Purdy said. 'I hope you guys know the standard is high here, man. Standard is high.
'You guys have laid a foundation. You guys have had a foundation with Coach Fennelly, and what you guys continue to do and allow the younger guys to come in and keep it up. That's all you guys.
'So heads freaking high. You walk out because you guys put it all out there. That's all I got to say.
