Collingwood premiership hero Tom Mitchell has claimed he received special treatment from a hotel because they mistook him for Magpies teammate Scott Pendlebury.
Mitchell, who has been struggling with an niggling ankle injury this season, took to social media this week to detail his recent experience at an Adelaide hotel after Collingwood's Gather Round-closing victory against Hawthorn on Sunday.
'The room I've been given on this away trip is probably one of the biggest and better ones I've had,' began Mitchell in a TikTok post.
'And I think I've just worked out why.'
Mitchell then produced a greeting card left out for the room guest, alongside a bottle of wine.

'Dear Scott, we are delighted to welcome you to Peppers Waymouth Hotel,' read the letter.
'Should you need anything during your stay please contact our friendly reception'
'Kind regard, The Peppers Team.'
Mitchell believes the excellent service was meant for his teammate - although the pair look nothing alike.
'Cleary meant for Scott Pendlebury and not Tom Mitchell,' he says at the end of the post.
Collingwood coach Coach Craig McRae knows his side need to lift their game if they are to defend their AFL premiership this season after they withstood a huge Hawthorn fightback in a tense five-point win to complete Gather Round.
The Magpies led by 38 points at halftime but were almost overrun by the winless Hawks in their 11.11 (77) to 11.6 (72) victory at Adelaide Oval.
A second straight triumph gave McRae's side a 2-3 record heading into an early-season bye, after their campaign started with three straight losses.

Mitchell sarcastically read out a greeting letter from the hotel addressed to 'Scott'
'We're not standing still,' the third-year coach said.
'We know we need to get better ... but we showed some signs today that we probably haven't shown in previous weeks.
'We looked really sharp with the ball and some parts of our game looked really strong in the first half, hence why we're sitting here with a win.
'It was just enough this week but we know this is a four-quarter game and a tough competition. We need to improve.'
