Alphonso Davies spectacularly tried a Panenka with the game on the line - and missed - as Uruguay defeated Canada in the Copa America third place game.
The sides were tied 2-2 after 90 minutes, with Luis Suarez leveling the score in second half stoppage time, before Bayern Munich star Davies found his team 4-3 down in the ensuing shootout.
The left-footer got Uruguay goalie Sergio Rochet to dive to his right as he chipped the ball down the middle, but his shot struck the bar and bounced in front of the goal line to end the match.
Davies put his head in his hands as he reacted to his miss and the end of Canada's tournament.
Despite the disappointing finish to their Copa America, Jesse Marsch's squad exceeded expectations as they made a run to the semifinals and escaped a group with Chile and Peru.

Uruguay secured third place in the tournament with the win on penalties over Canada
They later beat Venezuela on penalties following a 0-0 draw in the quarterfinals before losing to Argentina 2-0 for the second time in the competition.
Marsch, who is American, said he had 'no interest' in taking over the US men's national team job following the firing of Gregg Berhalter this week.
The former Leeds United and RB Leipzig manager interviewed for the position following the 2022 World Cup, but US Soccer opted to re-hire Berhalter.
He previously said he 'wasn't treated very well' during the USMNT interview process.
Uruguay, meanwhile, ousted Brazil in the quarterfinals on penalties before losing 1-0 to Colombia in the semis.
The third place match began with a Rodrigo Bencantur opener for Uruguay in the eighth minute, before Canada's Ismael Kone evened the score with an incredible leaping volley off of a corner in the 22nd minute.
Jonathan David then looked to have given Canada the win with an 80th minute rebound before Suarez broke Canadian hearts as he converted a Jose Gimenez cross in the dying stages of the match.

Scorer Kone then missed in the shootout before Davies also fluffed his lines to give Uruguay the win.
On Sunday, the winner of the tournament will be decided as Argentina and Colombia face off in the final.
Lionel Messi hasn't quite been at his absolute best during the tournament, as he hadn't scored until Argentina's semifinal win vs. Canada.
Nonetheless, his teammates on a strong La Albiceleste squad have done plenty to help with Lautaro Martinez leading the golden boot race with four goals.
