Arsenal and Germany midfielder Kai Havertz tied the knot with his long-term partner Sophia Weber in a stunning ceremony on Saturday.

Havertz has been taking a well-earned beak following his nation's exit from the European Championship at the hands of eventual winners Spain.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a productive tournament and carried his late-season form for the Gunners into the competition. But German hopes of lifting a European Championship on home soil were dashed by Luis de la Fuente's side.

Luckily for Havertz, he had the special occasion of his wedding to look forward to ahead of the start of the new campaign.

He and Weber, a model and social media influencer with over 390,000 followers on Instagram, were all smiles as they poised for a series of breathtaking photos.

The pair grew up in the same neighbourhood. While they initially as friends they began a relationship in 2018.

The newlyweds took to Instagram where they shared some beautiful photographs from the ceremony with the caption, '18.07.24 - forever'. Havertz announced his engagement last year following his £65million move to the Emirates.

It proved to be a eventful 12 months for the forward in north London, as he battled through heavy criticism, amid a slow start at his new club, to eventually be recognised as one of Mikel Arteta's key players.

Havertz netted 14 goals in 51 matches in all competitions and provided seven assists. In an interview last year, he opened up on the effect the sport can have on those around him.

'Football is our life.' He said. 'If you lose a game, of course you don't have an easy life.

'I think everyone at home, especially my girlfriend, has had some tough weeks. I think she is happy now again and so am I.'

Havertz is expected to report back for training in the coming weeks ahead of Arsenal's pre-season tour of the United States.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is keen to raise the level at Arsenal ahead of next season

Arteta's side are set to face Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as Havertz's old club Bayer Leverkusen.

The Gunners got their pre-season off to the perfect start with a comfortable 2-0 win over Leyton Orient in a behind-closed door friendly on Saturday.
