Arsenal 'could turn to £50m-rated Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke if they fail in their pursuit of Brentford star Ivan Toney'

Arsenal are lining up a move for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke as an alternative to Ivan Toney, according to reports. 

Mikel Arteta's side are likely to be on the hunt for a new striker next month as they chase a first Premier League title in 20 years. 

Brentford's Toney is the No 1 target for Arsenal but they will face competition from  number of rivals. 

Chelsea and Tottenham are also keen to sign the Bees striker, who scored 20 Premier League goals last season. 

As reported by the Daily Star, the north London side could turn to Bournemouth's Solanke if a move for Toney fails to materialise. 

The reports claims that the Cherries will be open to letting him leave but will demand around £50million for the player. 

It is said that Solanke has impressed Arsenal with his hard-working displays and they believe he can still improve.  

Solanke has been in prolific form for the Cherries this season with nine goals in 17 Premier League appearances. 

The 26-year-old has played a big role in their resurgence with goals against Newcastle, Aston Villa and more recently against Manchester United. 

West Ham are also admirers of Solanke and could make a move for him next month if finances allow them. 

The former Chelsea and Liverpool striker was on the scoresheet again this weekend against Luton before the game was abandoned after Tom Lockyer suffered a cardiac arrest.
