The PGMOL have pre-warned Arsenal that VAR audio from Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon's controversial winning goal will be released on Tuesday in a TV show hosted by referees' chief Howard Webb, Mail Sport can reveal.

The monthly programme, Match Officials Mic'd Up, which is hosted by Webb and Michael Owen, was introduced in May to display greater transparency around refereeing incidents.

The revelation that the audio on Gordon's goal will be disclosed follows a week of much controversy, which has seen the FA write to both Mikel Arteta and Arsenal to seek explanations for their post-match comments.

Mail Sport understands that the north London club wrote back to the FA on Monday morning.

In the Gunners' 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, Gordon's strike went through three separate VAR checks before being passed.

Arsenal have been warned the VAR audio from the triple check that led to Newcastle United's winning goal two weeks ago will be released on Tuesday night

The first issue VAR checked was whether Joe Willock managed to keep the ball in play

Officials then tried to determine whether this was a push on Gabriel by Joelinton

The third part to the VAR check was whether Gordon was offside when he fired the ball home

Arteta afterwards described the goal as 'an absolute disgrace' with the club then doubling down on their manager's comments in a statement the following day, calling for officiating standards to be urgently addressed.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham and Chelsea's match last Monday, which saw Spurs' Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie both sent-off and nine VAR checks, will be featured in the show.

Both clubs have not been consulted by the PGMOL.

Howard Webb will discuss the decisions made by VAR on his Match Officials Mic'd Up show

Officials had to assess three separate incidents before the decision to award Gordon's goal
