An Australian made pancake mix touted as being 'nutritionist created' and vegan-friendly has been urgently recalled after it was found to contain milk.
Food Standards Australia issued a recall notice on Friday for Elixinol Wellness' Mt Elephant brand 'buttermylk' mix due to the 'undeclared allergen'.
Any buyers of the Byron Bay pancake mix suffering a milk allergy or intolerance were urged by the food authority to 'not consume this product'.

'Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund,' the notice stated.
'Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.'
The 230g pancake mix had been sold at Coles and Woolworths stores nationwide and online.
The impacted packages are marked with the best-before dates October 9, October 10 and December 19, 2024.

Products sold with the best-before date of March 19, 2025 are also affected by the recall notice.
According to its website, Elixinol Wellness largely sells hemp-derived and 'other plant-based nutraceuticals, skincare and food products'.
Packaging for the 'buttermylk' pancakes claims the product is gluten free and vegan, with no preservatives.
While milk is gluten free, it's not a product generally considered to be vegan-friendly.
