A mother who slammed Jetstar cabin crew as 'disgusting' after they allegedly refused to help her while travelling alone with her baby has hit back at critics who branded her 'entitled'.

Larissa Davey, from Melbourne, was flying to the Gold Coast last Friday on a separate flight to her sister because their original booking had been cancelled by the budget airline.

The mum-of-one, who runs a children's clothing company, claimed staff refused to help her, allegedly telling her it was not their responsibility.

‘Jetstar’s treatment of women travelling alone with babies is absolutely disgusting,’ Ms Davey seethed in a video uploaded to social media.

The mother claimed  that she asked a staff member if someone could help her with her bags on the plane, to which the staff member allegedly replied: ‘Only if they want to.'

'I've got my daughter on my hip, nappy bag, pram in the hand. I literally don't have a free hand,' she added.

Ms Davey then asked another staff member if they could help her across the tarmac, to which she was allegedly told: 'It's not our responsibility.'

'That is actually disgusting,' she fumed.

'Like what about your responsibility as a freaking human? They are just a***holes.'

She said the staff needed a 'lesson in manners - and a new job'.

A spokesperson for Jetstar said their 'customer care team has reached out to her to better understand what happened'.

'We want all parents to feel welcome and comfortable on our flights and we’re really sorry to hear about her experience,' they added.

However, not everyone agreed with the mother's rant.

'I’ve flown with Jetstar four times by myself with a three-month-old and I only took the nappy bag as carry on because expecting someone to help or roll out the red carpet for you is crazy,' one mother wrote.

Another added: 'Princess, it's not their job.

'It’s your responsibility. Do you ask people at supermarkets to push your trolley cause you have a kid?'

Another scathing comment suggested she should suck it up.

'Next time hire a private plane to travel… seriously get over yourself,' the said.

However, Ms Davey hit back.

'Think everyone is somehow missing the simple point that I am not saying it is anyone’s responsibility, I’m saying they have no human DECENCY asking for help to get across a wet tarmac is not entitled,' she wrote.
