A young Australian woman has been left 'gobsmacked' by the response she received from the girlfriend of an NRL player she slept with.

Erika, from Brisbane, felt like she was going to 'have a panic attack' after realising she's the other woman of a cheating sports player and decided to confess what happened to his girlfriend.

The influencer shared a 'story time' on TikTok detailing the sequence of events and claimed she checked if the star had a girlfriend, then assumed he was single when he took an interest in her.

'I always thought the saying "NRL players are cheaters" was a big presumption people made mostly because I don't know anything about footy. Apparently everyone in the universe knew this except me,' she said in the video.

Erika, from Brisbane, felt like she was going to 'have a panic attack' after realising she's the other woman of a cheating sports player and decided to confess to his girlfriend

Last week the glamorous influencer met a few NRL players at her gym while she was exercising with a friend.

'I had no idea all the footy players were going to be there, otherwise I wouldn't have gone because it was f**king packed,' she said.

'We met some of them in the recovery room and were having a chat. I literally didn't know who they were.'

The group kept talking and Erika claimed the men asked where they could go to find fun things to do in Brisbane on a Saturday night.

'At the very end, the one that didn't talk to us at all came up to me and was like, "Hey, can I have your Instagram? I'll message you about where we're going",' she said.

The two exchanged social media profiles and Erika admitted she thought he was attractive.

Over the weekend Erika was hanging out with her girlfriends from Perth and told them of the run-in she had at the gym. Her friends immediately gushed as they all knew exactly who the men were, but Erika didn't.

'I thought this one guy who gave me his Instagram was hot so I was looking through his profile, making sure he didn't have a girlfriend, he literally had four photos but none of them were with a girl,' she said.

'I just assumed he was single, which apparently you can't do these days. I messaged him and said, "Good luck with your game".'

Erika discovered the NRL player had a girlfriend by looking at his tagged photos on Instagram (stock image)

Then the two kept messaging to share where they were going out and eventually crossed paths.

'I ended up going back to his place ... then left the next morning and didn't think anything of it until my Instagram feed kept showing footy highlights,' Erika said.

She then turned her attention to the man's tagged photos on his Instagram page and came across a photo of him and a girl.

Erika quickly realised the woman was his girlfriend.

'My stomach f**king sank. Every second photo was a photo with him. I thought I was going to throw up and was on the verge of tears,' she recalled.

'I was getting hot flushes and was like no f**king way. I messaged him and asked if they were still together and he didn't reply.'

Then Erika worked up the courage to message the girlfriend to ask if the couple are still together - and she confirmed they are.

'I pretty much just told her what happened and she was like "Oh thanks for letting me know". That was the entire response and I was like what the f**k?' she said.

'I was just gobsmacked because I was expecting questions and conversation ... it was just nothing. I felt like I was so worried about it for nothing, which probably isn't he case, she probably didn't want to talk to me.'

The following morning Erika noticed the player had removed her from his followers and never responded to her.

'Like I said, this probably is not new news. It probably happens every game ... anyway the moral of this story is to never trust a footy boy, or a boy in general.'
