ESPN's flagship show, SportsCenter, aired an uncensored clip of Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence saying the word 'motherf***er' on Sunday night, forcing anchor Ryan Smith to apologize on-air on behalf of the network.
'Hit a mother***er in the face,' Lawrence said Sunday night. 'Over, and over, and over, and over again until they quit. And when they quit, hit them again, and again, and again, and again.'
The interview containing the foul language made in onto ESPN after the Cowboys blew out the Philadelphia Eagles 33-13 in an important NFC East clash.
The use of 'motherf***er' prompted SportsCenter anchor Ryan Smith to apologize to viewers for several seconds, as the word is usually bleeped out of ESPN's broadcasts.
'I want to quickly apologize for some sound we aired a couple moments ago from that Cowboys piece, some foul language was used,' Smith said. 'So I just want to say, apologies for that on our behalf, unintentional mistake there.'

Lawrence was fired up because of how impressive and momentous the win was for Dallas.
The game aired on national television with no competition from the league, meaning if a football fan wanted to watch a game on Sunday night, it was the Cowboys drubbing of the Eagles.
The win also brought both teams' records to 10-3, meaning both have a shot at the No. 1 seed in the NFC East.
ESPN typically runs on a several-second delay and screens clips to make sure words like 'motherf***er' don't end up on air.
Those filters didn't catch Lawrence's expletive.
