Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed the secret to Harry Kane’s phenomenal success in Germany – an addiction to cappuccino.

On Tuesday Tuchel challenged Kane to prove a point to the world by powering Bayern to a Champions League semi-final when they face Real Madrid in the teams’ second leg at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

The England captain scored a penalty in last week’s 2-2 first leg draw and heads in to Wednesday's game having found the net an astonishing 44 times in his debut season.

Asked at Tuesday's press conference in Spain whether anything had surprised him about Kane, Tuchel said: ‘Yes, how many cappuccinos he drinks during the day. I have been very surprised.

‘Every time I go in to the kitchen he is there. I have started doing it myself now. Look at him, he looks healthy and in good shape.’

Kane has scored 44 goals for Bayern this season and Tuchel believes he could be a key weapon

Bayern are underdogs ahead of Wednesday's game with Real having lost only one game all season.

But former Chelsea manager Tuchel – who will leave Bayern after only one season this summer – believes Kane but could be a decisive weapon.

‘I knew we were getting a big personality in to the dressing room on top of a goalscorer and an example of how to deal with pressure,’ added Tuchel.

‘He is the captain of England and he has brought us everything we could have hoped for. Tomorrow he needs to prove the point and deliver.’
