Tributes are pouring in for a teenager who tragically took his own life this week, just one day before he was due to start a new job.

Baylee Ryan, 18, died on Monday afternoon in the Moreton Bay suburb of Bray Park in south east Queensland.

His heartbroken mother Tracy Ryan said she was 'at an absolute loss for words' after receiving the devastating news.

'I got absolutely devastating news this afternoon that I wish was not real,' Ms Ryan wrote on Facebook.

'I'm still processing it all and don't want to believe it.

'He was amazing and talented in so so many ways and it's a real shame.

'I know everyone that has ever met him was touched in some sort of way, that's just how amazing he was.

'Your smile will forever be in my heart I LOVE YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS BAYLEE.'

Ms Ryan told Daily Mail Australia he was due to start working at Hungry Jack's on Tuesday.

'He was an amazing young man who was always happy as a young kid, growing up with a beautiful smile on his face,' she said.

'He was very loved by his friends and family and was always active and well behaved and respectful.

'I always got compliments of his good behaviour and manners.'

It's understood Baylee had suffered depression for several years but had plans to go to university to pursue a career in science or engineering.

Ms Ryan added a former abusive relationship she had had left a deep impact on her son, forcing them to briefly live on the streets.

Baylee's partner also posted a tribute on social media and asked if anyone who lived near the Bray Park train station could leave flowers behind in his honour.

'He didn't have many friends or family he was close to that'd mourn his passing other than me, so I hope you guys can mourn him with me, I don't want him to be forgotten,' they wrote.

'Baylee was really sweet and soft but he did struggle with these types of things for a few years.

'I'm so sorry, Baylee I will miss you eternally.'

Several bouquets of flowers have been left at the station since Baylee's passing.

Other tributes from loved ones have poured in.

'Baylee was a beautiful, kind and smart young man. If you need anything please let me know,' one person wrote.

'I'll will go there today and lay some flowers & candles. Thinking of you x.'

Another wrote that 'our hearts ache with the devastating news of your precious son Baylee'.

'Bay was such a sweet soul, loved the times we had during his and Camdyn's 13 years of friendship, that we'll forever cherish the memories made,' she wrote.

'May you no longer feel pain Bay.'

Ms Ryan told the Courier Mail she wanted other young people who struggled with their mental health to 'speak up'.

'Even if it's uncomfortable just speak up, tell someone what you're going through,' she said.

Over eight Australians die every day by suicide, according to counselling service Lifeline, with males making up three quarters of that toll, which is twice the number killed on roads.
