Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard have been confirmed as pundits as the BBC announced details of their Euro 2024 coverage.

The ex-England internationals are among the headline names included for this summer's tournament in Germany.

Rooney is becoming an increasingly visible pundit since being sacked as Birmingham City manager back in January.

He was forced to pull out of his BBC punditry debut with a back injury in February, but has since featured for both TNT Sports and Sky Sports in the studio.

Rooney, the second highest goalscorer for England’s men’s national team, has quickly become known for offering strong opinions including on the state of Man United’s current squad.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank will be among those to offer analysis during the tournament

David Moyes will offer insight on Scotland's campaign following his recent exit from West Ham

Lampard has previously featured as part of the BBC’s coverage at major tournaments and will be returning alongside former team-mates Rio Ferdinand and Joe Hart, with the latter recently confirming his retirement.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank and former West Ham manager David Moyes have also been confirmed as additions to the BBC's coverage.

Frank is likely to offer insight into England's Euro 2024 group opponents Denmark during his time as a pundit.

The BBC confirmed that Moyes will feature as part of their coverage of Scotland, which also includes former international James McFadden and women's captain Rachel Corsie.

Moyes was confirmed earlier this month to have signed up to work for talkSPORT during the tournament.

Two-time Euros winner Cesc Fabregas is another high-profile inclusion to the BBC team, joining their regular cast of pundits.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea star is already part of the BBC's Planet Premier League with host Mark Chapman.

'Presenters Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan, Mark Chapman and Alex Scott will lead the coverage from the studio in the heart of Berlin with live match commentary from all 10 host cities across Germany,' a BBC statement read.

Joining them on co-comms are Jermaine Jenas, Danny Murphy, Martin Keown and James McFadden as well as Alan Shearer, who will be in the commentary box for England’s opener against Serbia on 16 June.

'Ex-England stars Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Hart, Ellen White and Frank Lampard will also join BBC regulars Micah Richards and Ashley Williams in bringing their expertise to the coverage.

'Representing Scotland will be David Moyes, Rachel Corsie and McFadden while two-time Euros winner Cesc Fabregas and Brentford boss Thomas Frank will also join the team in the studio.

'Reporting on the England camp throughout the tournament will be Kelly Somers, while Eilidh Barbour will be with the Scotland team.'
