A beautician is at the centre of a mysterious hate crime which has seen her salon repeatedly doused in paint.

Emily Jobbins, 35, who owns beauty salon Wowzer in Blaenavon, Gwent, has had her business and family member's property vandalised by anonymous attackers.

CCTV footage from her salon showed two mysterious figures throwing paint over her shop front.

The next morning, Mrs Jobbins discovered the damage and reported it to police before cleaning it up and opening her shop.

She said: 'It won't deter me from establishing my business and thriving in the area.

Beautician Emily Jobbins says her brand new salon has been targeted by mysterious vandals in Blaenavon, Gwent

CCTV footage showed strangers throwing paint over her shop front just days after the 35-year-old had finished refurbishments

The beautician owns Wowzer cosmetics and says the vandalism won't put her off thriving in the town

'We got all of our family and we cleared all of it. It was put back to right in two days, but it was a lot of work.'

The vandalism happened just days after she had finished refurbishing her dream salon in the Welsh town with the help of her family.

Her step-dad, Malcom Tucker, is a carpenter and helped refurbish the teaching salon - which offers a range of beauty treatments - just two days after having knee replacement surgery.

She added: 'There was no telling him no.

'I also had the help of my husband Wayne Jobbins who did a lot of the painting, and my mum Vicky Tucker, who was basically our project manager.'

Mrs Jobbins' mum Vicky also had her parked car damaged a few days later - which is believed to be linked to the salon's vandalism.

She said her mum was 'very upset' and 'in shock' about the incidents that happened in a span of a few days.

The 35-year-old said the community have also been very supportive and were all 'surprised' by the incident.

Mrs Jobbins' mum Vicky has also been victim to the random attacks after her parked car damaged a few days after her daughter's salon was targeted

Mrs Jobbins said the refurbishment and then clean up of the paint has been a family affair with her husband and father involved in the process

'Everyone said they have never seen anything like this before. Everyone is quite shocked,' she said.

'I have had lots of offers of help. It has been really positive in that respect and the police are going to increase surveillance in the area.'

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: 'We received a report of criminal damage at around 8.30am on Saturday 15 June at a commercial property in Broad Street, Blaenavon.

'Paint was reportedly thrown over a shop front by two unknown people at around 10.30pm on Friday 14 June.

'We also received a report of damage to a car parked outside an address in Llanellen, Monmouth at around 5pm on Tuesday 18 June.

'It is believed that the two incidents might be linked, and anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam, is asked to call 101 or DM us quoting log reference 2400197136.'
