The devastated family of a 16-year-old tragically killed in a horror car crash have vowed to 'not hold bitterness in our hearts'.
Emergency services were called to Main South Road in Second Valley on the Fleurieu Peninsula, about 1.5 hours south of Adelaide, at about 5.15pm on Sunday and treated five teenagers after a Toyota HiLux lost control.
Benjy Weenink, 16, from Blackwood in Adelaide's southeast, who was a passenger in the HiLux, died at the scene.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy, along with three other passengers - a 16-year-old boy and two 15-year-old girls - were rushed to Flinders Medical Centre.
The teenagers are understood to have sustained non-life threatening injuries.
'We are heartbroken and are still trying to make sense of this tragedy but we will not hold bitterness in our hearts, but instead thank God for the wonderful 16 years we had with our beautiful boy Benjy,' the teen's family told Daily Mail Australia.
