Bentleigh East, Melbourne: Man found dead and woman left fighting for life after 'physical altercation' at a home

A man has been found dead and a woman left fighting for life following an alleged group fight at a home.

A Victoria Police spokesman said a physical altercation took place between two men and a woman in Bentleigh East, Melbourne's south-east, at 8pm on Saturday. 

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody.

He is currently assisting police with their inquiries. 

'It is believed all parties are known to each other,' the Victoria Police spokesman said.

The critically injured woman was rushed to hospital.
