The YouTube charity match between Beta Squad and AMP had to be abandoned after fans stormed onto the pitch towards the end of the game.

With the two teams level at 6-6 at Selhurst Park, penalties were looming.

However, the game had to be called off as hundreds of fans entered the pitch.


The referee instructed players to leave the pitch, with stewards unable to bring a halt to the swarm of fans. 

The scenes marked a sorry end to what had been an entertaining game.

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge had made a surprise appearance in the game.

The 34-year-old had an inviting opportunity to score but he was unable to find the net.

A mystery Premier League player stole the show during Beta Squad's charity match

Sturridge made up for his miss, though, as the ex-England international eventually managed to score.

A mystery professional footballer stole the show as he scored a superb solo goal.

The Premier League player wore a black and red mask in order to hide his identity and found the net twice, although he also scored an own goal.

Proceeds from the game went to The Water Project, which provides clean water to villages across Sub-Saharan Africa.
