Joe Burns returned to familiar territory on Thursday, and Brisbane Heat made a light-hearted attempt to play mind games with their former star in the Big Bash League opener.
Burns, 33, has represented the Melbourne Stars since 2021 but was formerly a Heat man, with the Queenslander representing his hometown for a decade.
And when the former Test player made his way to the crease, with the Stars chasing their rivals' first innings total of 214, the Gabba hilariously teased their ex-player.
Gotye's smash hit 'Somebody That I Used To Know' rang out on the PA system around the ground, in a clear jest at the 33-year-old.
In the end, it may have done the trick to throw Burns off, as he failed to make a significant dent in the Heat's total, scoring 22 runs off 23 balls.
More to follow.
