Police have arrested an alleged sex offender in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command at about 3.45pm on Wednesday attempted to speak with a man at Roscoe Street, Bondi, over an alleged sexual offence that occurred on the states Central Coast earlier this month.
It will be alleged that the 48-year-old male ran away from police.
The man was located at at 4.45pm in Curlewis Street, Bondi with the assistance of additional resources.

He was arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station where he is currently assisting with inquiries.
Footage of the incident show a man in his underwear being led away by police amid a heavy police presence.
Footage caught of the ordeal by a local and shared to social media shows a helicopter hovering in the sky in the area on Wednesday afternoon.
Police and police cars can be seen in the area and sirens can be heard wailing.
The local who caught the footage said in one video that an arrest had been made on a rooftop.
