Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is set to be fired at the end of the season, according to reports.

The Chargers' miserable season continued on Sunday, when the Baltimore Ravens delivered their third straight defeat to extend their losing record to 4-7 and pile the pressure on Staley.

And according to Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz, unless something miraculous happens between now and the end of the campaign, he will be relieved of his duties.

'Brandon Staley barring a miracle is out with the Los Angeles Chargers,' Schultz said emphatically.

'And the reason is they have not had sustained regular season success, they've only been to one playoff game in three plus years, there was a catastrophic loss to the Jaguars, their defense is consistently in the bottom half or in this case, this season bottom-five across every major including total defense which is dead last.'

The Chargers have a 4-7 record and their defense currently ranks dead last in the NFL

Staley recently became defensive when pressed over his performance by reporters.

'I have full confidence,' Staley said after the recent 23-10 loss against the Green Bay Packers. 'Like I've told you from the beginning, I have full confidence in our way of playing.'

'Full confidence in myself as the playcaller, in the way that we teach and the way that we scheme. Full confidence in that. We got to bring this group together and do it consistently. ... And that's where it's at.'

So far this season Josh McDaniels has already been fired by the Las Vegas Raiders and Frank Reich was recently fired by the Carolina Panthers, creating two potential openings.

A recent report also stated that there are expected to be 7-10 coaching changes this season and even before this report Staley's seat seemed to be growing hotter on a weekly basis.

During his first season with the Chargers, Staley's tenure started off with loads of promise before the team lost three of their final four games and limped to a 9-8 record.

In his second season Staley led the Chargers to a 10-7 record and a playoff appearance after the team won four straight games following a somber 6-6 start to the year.

The good vibes from the loan playoff game were short-lived however after the Jacksonville Jaguars comeback from a 27-7 score at halftime to win the Wild Card game 31-30 on a game-winning field goal.

Whatever bad vibes remained in the Chargers building from that heartbreaking playoff loss seemingly transferred over to this year as their record sits a 4-7.

The team's failure to perform in close contest has also been noteworthy as the Chargers have a 2-5 record in games decided by eight points or less.
