Brentford have stolen a march on Arsenal and Tottenham after agreeing a £35million deal for Leeds United's Archie Gray.
The 18-year old is now expected to head for a medical.
Brentford moved quickly with London rivals Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea all making enquiries.
Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa have also checked on the versatile midfielder who made 52 appearances last season.
Arsenal and Tottenham were understood to be pushing more than rival clubs earlier this week though Tottenham also hold an interest in Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey.
Leeds are reluctant to lose such a fans' favourite as Gray, particularly with his family's association with the club, but recognise he could generate crucial revenue.
The Championship side say the deal could be closer to £40m with add ons for Gray - but other clubs could yet come in now they have agreed a fee.
Gray is the great nephew of Leeds great Eddie Gray and grandson of Frank Gray. His brother Harry is also on Leeds' books.
Meanwhile centre back Charlie Cresswell is in talks over a £3.8m move to French side Toulouse.
Real Betis have completed a £4m deal for Marc Roca and want Diego Llorente while Marseille and Monaco are keen on Leeds keeper Ilian Meslier.
Jamie Shackleton has interest from Sheffield United.
