A British teenage footballer is in a critical condition after he was found with no pulse at the bottom of a swimming pool in Sweden after competing in the world's largest youth tournament.
Emergency services were called to treat the teenager, believed to be 16 or 17 years old, at the Nolhaga Parkbad in Allingsås, around 25 miles north-east of Gothenburg on Friday.
The player, who has not yet been identified, was pulled out of the water in a 'lifeless' state by Swedish players.
Staff at the pool administered CPR on the boy until paramedics took over.
He was taken by helicopter to Sahlgrenska in Gothenburg, where he remains in a serious condition.

Police are investigating the incident at the bathhouse, which was evacuated and shut down. It will remain closed until at least Monday, local media reported.
The boy was an English player competing in the world-renowned Gothia cup, the largest youth football tournament in the world.
England has sent over 128 teams from across the nation to compete. Swedish newspaper Expressen reported that this is the second year in a row that someone has drowned at the pool.
Last year, a boy in his early teens died after he drowned at the Nolhaga Parkbad.
It is not currently known whether the boy's family has been notified of the tragic incident.
