Shane Warne's daughter Brooke has revealed how her dad's shock death aged just 52 has forever changed the way she relates to her closest family members.

The 26-year-old, who is the eldest daughter of the cricketer and his ex-wife Simone Callahan, said told former Miss Universe Australia Olivia Molly Rogers' Tell Me More podcast that she and siblings Jackson and Summer never regularly expressed their love for each other until their father died.

One of the greatest players in the sport's history, Warne suffered a fatal heart attack on March 4 last year while staying at a luxury villa on the Thailand holiday island of Koh Samui.

Warne's eldest daughter also revealed she has inherited so many of her father's traits she is 'very much a mini-Shane'

His death threw the cricket community into mourning and saw a huge outpouring of grief in Australia as he was remembered with a stand named after him at the MCG.

When Rogers noted that 'people say so many beautiful things about the person' at their funeral, Warne interjected, 'That they'd never say to them while they were here!'

'Do you think that because of that you say you love your family and friends more than you maybe did beforehand?' Rogers asked.

'One hundred per cent,' Brooke replied.

'Like, my brother, my sister and I would never say, "OK, love you, bye!" [Now] All the time, we say I love you, I love you, love you, always. And they obviously say it back.

'But I mean, it's little things like that, like, people always say, oh, make sure you tell people that you love them. It's true.'

She says that since her dad's passing, the Warne kids (pictured left to right: Jackson, Brooke and Summer) always tell each other 'love you'

The spin king's daughter went on to reveal how she coped with the shock of her father's passing.

'Everything that's happened to us has made us so much stronger,' she said of her family.

'I feel like I owe it to my dad to be strong and continue his legacy.

'He wouldn't want me to be sad and sitting here wasting my days, he'd say, "What are you doing? Get up! Do something! Try harder, come on!"'

Brooke also explained that she has picked up many of her father's traits.

'I think over the years I'm very much a mini-Shane,' she said.

'The way we look, the way we act, our mannerisms, everything, we are very much alike.'

Brooke admitted she used to question why she wasn't like her mother Simone Callahan, but is now 'so proud' to be a 'mini-Shane.'

'I used to be like, "why didn't I get my mum's gene" and I think over the years more and more as I have got to know my dad more and more and I learnt about myself, I was so proud I'm a mini-Shane,' she added.
