Bruno Fernandes netted from 50 yards to equalise for Manchester United in their clash with Liverpool.

After Alejandro Garnacho's early strike was ruled out for offside, United found themselves on the back foot for much of the first half at Old Trafford.

Luis Diaz fired the visitors into the lead from a corner on 23 minutes, with the Colombian unmarked at the back post after a flick-on from Darwin Nunez.

Erik ten Hag's side struggled to make any real chances throughout the opening 45 minutes, and entered the interval without having recorded a single shot, while Liverpool had managed 15.

Despite their struggles United would finally make through courtesy of Bruno Fernandes after the restart.

The Portuguese midfielder capitalised on a mistake from Jarrell Quansah to dispossess the young defender.
