Bryson DeChambeau has won the US Open, after Rory McIlroy choked on the final day at Pinehurst.
McIlroy had the tournament at his mercy and seemed destined to win his first Major in 10 years but with a one-shot lead, missed a two-and-a-half foot putt for par on the 16th.
It was his second straight bogey and came at the worst time, moments after DeChambeau had three-putted on 15.
But after McIlroy let him off the hook on 15, DeChambeau didn't look back. Rory missed another easy putt on 18, ending his tournament with bogey and nothing other than humiliation.
DeChambeau looked like he was going to throw one away himself on 18 but after driving into the rough, got out of a greenside bunker with a fabulous shot to within four feet of the flag.
From there, it was only going to be one outcome and the LIV man emerged victorious after breathtaking final round in North Carolina.
It's the second time he has won the US Open, following on from 2020's triumph, and the second Major overall in his career.
