An exclusion zone has been declared by Queensland Police as a an "emergency situation" unfolds in the state's far north.
Police responded to reports of a disturbance at a property in Bungalow, Cairns, shortly after 10.30am on Friday.

Little Spence St, Buchan St, Kidston St and Hartley St have been marked as boundaries to the exclusion zone under the Public Safety Preservation Act.
Members of the public have been advised to avoid the area.
