Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Brazilian wonder kid Pedro Lima, and are set to beat Real Madrid in the race for his signature.

The Blues are set to continue the transfer strategy under Todd Boehly of signing some of the world's best young players, and have targeted the teenage right-back.

According to GiveMeSport Chelsea's recruitment team have described the defender as one of the best right-backs in world football for his age group.

The 17-year-old star currently plays for Brazilian second tier club, Sport Recife, and there is now an expectation that they will get a deal over the line.

The West London club remain confident in holding off renewed interest in the player from Real Madrid, but they are keen to get the deal wrapped-up for the young star.

Todd Bohely has continued his transfer strategy of finding the best young talent for Chelsea

The Blues are looking to wrap up a deal for teenage Brazilian full-back Pedro Lima

The club begin a new era under boss Enzo Maresca after he replaced Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea have already made their first signing of the summer, after confirming the arrival of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham on a free transfer last week.

The defender is the first signing for new boss Enzo Maresca, having left Leicester earlier this month to move into the hot seat at Stamford Bridge to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

It's doubtful that any confirmation of the Lima deal would see the player thrust into the Chelsea first team, with Fabrizio Roamano already reporting that there's plans in place to send him on loan.

Stating on his social media account:  'Chelsea have prepared Pedro Lima deal with Strasbourg: Brazilian right back expected to join the French club from Sport Recife.

Earlier this week Chelsea confirmed their first summer signing in defender Tosin Adarabioyo

Lima has only played seven games for the Brazilian club and could be sent on loan

Agreement on personal terms, working on final details between clubs to be sealed in the next days.'

The teenage starlet has only played seven games for the Brazilian club, and looks to be heading to France on a loan deal with Strasbourg if the deal with Chelsea is completed.
