Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter's past bad behavior, suspensions, and attitude issues have come to light in the wake of what some are calling an 'assault' on WNBA phenom Caitlin Clark.
The foul came in a tight third quarter where the pair were guarding each other physically before Clark appeared to deliver an elbow leading to a score and some trash talk. After Carter scored a bucket of her own, she delivered a hip check on the WNBA Draft's No. 1 overall pick - sending her to the ground in confusion and shock.
It was that foul and her subsequent trash talking of Clark that has seen Carter - who calls herself 'Hollywood' - back in the news once again.
It's not the first time. Between her rise through college and the incidents on Saturday, the former fourth-overall pick has been traded and cut from teams because of her off-court behavior - including one incident where she threatened to fight a teammate.
Now, she's on her third WNBA team making the least of her teammates - but that doesn't mean she isn't making a name for herself.

After a sequence of rough play between the two, Carter hip checked Clark to the ground
Coming out of high school, Chennedy Carter was a McDonalds All-American - an honor only given to the best college-bound recruits in the country.
The Texas native decided to stay in her home state for school and played three years at Texas A&M.
Each year she was there she averaged at least 21 points a game and was reliably one of the Aggies' best players.
She went to the Sweet 16 her freshman and sophomore years, but lost both times to Notre Dame.
Her junior year, she was averaging 21 points a game and the Aggies were 22-8 when Covid-19 struck the country and the NCAA Tournament was cancelled.
Rather than stick around college for a fourth year, Carter decided to test her luck and entered the WNBA Draft.
Carter was the fourth overall pick in her draft class, getting selected by the Atlanta Dream
She had a stellar rookie season and was one of the top candidates for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award before she missed six games due to an ankle injury. Carter finished out the season strong and was named to the All-Rookie Team.

After three years in college, Carter decided to declare for the WNBA Draft her junior year
Carter was selected fourth overall by the Atlanta Dream - having a stellar rookie campaign
But it was in her second season where 'Hollywood' generated more headlines than she may have asked for.
In July of 2021, she was suspended for 'conduct detrimental to the team'. According to reports around the time the suspension was issued, Carter got into an argument with another player on the Dream - Courtney Williams - who asked her to 'improve her attitude' during a game.
After the game ended, Carter went up to Williams in the locker room telling her she wanted to fight. Once that request for an altercation was denied, Carter backed away. She did not play for the Dream again.
For the 2022 season, Atlanta traded her to the Los Angeles Sparks where she didn't get much playing time - averaging just 16 minutes a game and playing in only 24 contests.
She was waived in March of 2023. It was revealed by the Los Angeles Times that Carter had been benched the previous season due to 'poor conduct'. It was further reported that interim coach Fred Williams benched Carter for four games due to a 'coaches decision'.
But the following season, Carter was benched after threatening to punch a teammate
She was traded to the Sparks - where her attitude reportedly led to further benching in LA
After a year abroad, Carter earned a contract with the Chicago Sky out of training camp
After playing a season abroad in Turkey, Carter earned a camp invite with the Chicago Sky, which led to a roster spot.
But with that path, it means that the former fourth overall pick is - along with fellow camp invite Kysre Gondrezick - the lowest paid player on the Chicago Sky roster at just $64,154 per Spotrac.
And that's led to now, where Carter is back in the news for the hip check on Clark.
Whether Carter will face any more punishment other than the flagrant foul remains to be seen, but this likely won't be the last time that Clark sees some adversity in the WNBA.
