An offense report detailed the events that led up to Kansas City Chiefs star Rashee Rice allegedly assaulting a photographer at a nightclub in Dallas.
The allegations came when a man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries early on Monday morning but with swelling on the left side of his face.
Although the report obtained by The Dallas Morning News does not name Rice, the description of the 'suspect' matches the wideout's age, height, and weight.
Law enforcement officials have also told The Dallas Morning News that the former SMU star is the alleged suspect.
The report details how the victim was at an after-hours event at the Lit Lounge & Feu Nightclub around 1.30 am, believing he'd been hired to take pictures of the suspect. The victim left the premises shortly after but received an Instagram message from the suspect around 1.55 am to re-enter the establishment.
A police report detailed the events leading to Rashee Rice's alleged assault on a photographer
Rice, 24, allegedly hit a photographer at Lit Kitchen nightclub in Dallas during a night out, Mon.
The Chiefs star allegedly lured the victim back into the nightclub before hitting him in the face
The report states that upon his return, the photographer was 'made aware of where the suspect was at by other members of the suspect’s entourage.'
After finding each other inside the club, the suspect instructed the victim to check his Instagram messages. While the report does not detail the messages, it states that the suspect punched the photographer on the left side of his face while he looked at the suspect's phone.
Following the incident, two civilians with knowledge of the altercation told The Dallas Morning News that despite the verbal exchange, no physical contact was made between the parties involved.
However, Rice's camp has previously declined to comment on the allegation. The photographer also did not respond to The Dallas Morning News' request for a statement on Thursday and earlier in the week.
Rice turned himself in to the police in April after allegedly causing a multivehicle collision
The new allegations came behind Rice surrendering himself to police after he allegedly caused a multivehicle crash that injured at least seven people in Dallas on March 30.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the 2024 Super Bowl winner was driving a vehicle at 199 mph while SMU football player Teddy Knox drove another at 116 mph before the incident. Footage showed Rice and four other men leaving the scene after the crash without checking if anyone needed medical attention, according to authorities.
Rice and Knox each faced one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving bodily.
The pair posted bond after turning themselves in two weeks after the collision.
