CM Punk is reportedly being lined up to feud with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns following his shock return to the WWE

The former five-time world champion made his first appearance for the company in nine years, as he came out on stage just as the Survivor Series event was about to come to an end.

He walked out on the company and wrestling altogether after the 2014 Royal Rumble, citing creative frustrations and anger towards his medical care at the time.

After such a lengthy absence from the company, there are limitless opponents he could face.

Sports Illustrated have reported that the company plan for Punk to feud with two of the very top stars in Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

It's claimed that Rollins would be the first feud, which would be understandable given his angry reaction to Punk's comeback on Saturday.

There have been reports that they could square off at the 2024 Royal Rumble event, or even perhaps Wrestlemania 40.

They have clashed in the past despite working together during Punk's first stint in the WWE, with Rollins calling Punk a 'cancer' and ordering to stay away from the WWE after he had been criticised by the 45-year-old in the past.

Rollins did however tell Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast that Punk had apologised, they had made up and he would be willing to work with him in a professional manner.

At a recent live event, addressing Punk's return, Rollins said: 'I'm not going to waste any more breath on somebody that's been gone for 8 years. [Someone who] has done nothing but try and tear this place down.

'Instead I'm going to take my time and use my breath on talking about the people who've been here all along. That's everybody in the back who's made WWE the hottest ticket in town, that's every single one of you who are here tonight.'

Reigns also expressed his dislike for Punk when he was asked about him on the Loaded Management podcast back in 2020.

When discussing Punk's potential return he said: 'If it's something that the fans can get behind and that it can really make them sink their teeth into the product, and really dive into the creative with us, I'm willing to do it.

Punk was one of WWE's biggest stars before he left in 2014 - citing creative frustrations as well as anger over his medical care at the time

'I don't like the guy, I don't know many people who do, but I'm willing to put business first and make really good content if that's the case.'

Reigns is currently managed by Paul Heyman, who was CM Punk's manager for a period during his prior WWE stint.

Punk has faced Rollins and Reigns before during their time as part of the Shield stable.
