Stalions starred in the sign stealing scandal that led to his suspension and resignation

Stalions was tagged for spearheading a network of wrongful scouting around the Big Ten Conference. Stalions' reportedly bought tickets to Big Ten games and recorded opposing teams' signals to gain an unfair advantage.

Signal stealing has been forbidden since 1994.

In the heat of the investigation last season, several Big Ten coaches came forward to support claims of Stalions' whereabouts.

'He spearheads the operation,' one coach from the conference told Yahoo in October. 'I once told [Stalions]: 'We know what kind of s*** you are doing and it's f***** up.''

Stalions was suspended indefinitely as the NCAA's investigation went on before his reignition in November 2023.

Michigan went on to have a perfect 15-0 season and win their first NCAA title since 1997

Head coach Jim Harbaugh left Ann Arbor to coach the Los Angeles Chargers after the win

Despite the scandal bringing a negative connotation, it later became just another roadblock to overcome on their way to a 15-0 season and national championship win.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended by the Big Ten for three games at the heat of the investigation. During his ban, the Wolverines faced powerhouse matchups in Penn State and Ohio State but managed to get wins with offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore as the interim head coach.

After securing the program's first national title since 1997, Harbaugh left Ann Arbor to coach the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL.

Despite Harbaugh and Stalions both leaving the Wolverines locker room, the NCAA continues to investigate the scandal. However, the investigation has slowed down as the case has 'taken no shortage of twist and turns,' according to the Detroit Press.
