The UFC have announced that Ian Garry will return to action at UFC 303 next month.

The fight will feature on the main card of an event set to be headlined by the return of Conor McGregor after nearly three years out of the Octagon, as he faces Michael Chandler in a long-awaited clash at 170lbs.

Meanwhile, the co-headline bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will see former light heavyweight king Jamahal Hill take on surging prospect Carlos Ulberg.

UFC president Dana White revealed Garry will face fellow welterweight contender Michael 'Venom' Page, and that a press conference for the event will be held in Dublin on June 3.

26-year-old Garry is undefeated across 14 fights since making his professional debut in 2019.

The Irishman signed with the UFC just two years later and has since racked up seven wins in the promotion, most recently defeating perennial contender Geoff Neal by decision back in February.

Unlike his opponent next month, 'MVP' took a decidedly less direct route to the UFC, becoming one of the biggest stars in rival promotion Bellator following a series of viral knockouts.

After leaving Bellator to become a free agent, Page signed with the UFC late last year before making his Octagon debut in March, outclassing Kevin Holland en route to a decision win at UFC 299.

The welterweight division has stagnated in recent months with a number of contenders in the top 10 not currently signed to fight.

Leon Edwards is scheduled to defend his title in a rematch against Belal Muhammad in Manchester in July, opening up a possibility that the clash between Garry and MVP could crown the next challenger for the gold.
