New York Giants tight end Darren Waller decided to process the emotions of a divorce from wife Kelsey Plum by releasing a song with a music video.
Waller, who is considering retiring from the sport, dropped a single titled 'Who Knew (Her Perspective)' - with the music video coming out on Thursday.
This comes a little over a month after news of the divorce from Plum went public.
In the video, Waller sings from 'the viewpoint of a woman trying to love him', according to TMZ, all while he stars alongside a brunette actress.
'You know in life, it's hard to love, it's hard to be free, it's hard to give all of your soul, have your heart broken in return,' the tight end croons in autotune to open the song.

In the video, Waller is seen getting having issues with a brunette who stabs him in the back
“On February 3, I felt a strong conviction to do something different,' Waller wrote in an Instagram post dated May 24.
'I’d never written a song from the perspective of someone else until this. There’s something extremely valuable (and quite humbling lol) about putting yourself in the shoes of those you have been intimate with and taking an honest look at yourself. The only result possible is growth.'
The video mainly takes place in two locations - a field and a beach - with Waller and the brunette seemingly going through struggles together.
At the end of the video, on the beach, the brunette stabs Waller in the back with a pocket knife - causing him to fall onto the sand as waves hit him in the face.
But it appears that not everyone is a fan of the music video, with Kansas City Chiefs star defensive end Chris Jones tweeting a reply to one post with the video on Twitter, saying, 'This s**t terrible slime'.
The song's release comes weeks after a joint petition for a divorce was filed in Nevada back in April, according to court documents.
Plum suggested that her marriage was over in a post to social media around the time, saying, 'I'm devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it's time to go.
'God has given me such an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends. One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day.'
Waller and Plum tied the knot back in March of 2023 but speculation bubbled up this year
Plum is currently focused on trying to win a third straight title with the Las Vegas Aces
The couple tied the knot back in March of 2023.
Speculation about the couple's marriage began to bubble up in early 2024 - with Waller posting a TikTok featuring him dancing while mouthing the lyrics to a remix of The Delfonics' song 'Think It Over'.
That post was tagged with the caption, 'When ya girl bout to leave you' - a caption he later told TMZ was a joke.
Plum is currently balling out for the back-to-back WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces, as they search for a third straight title.
