Darwin Lotto winner shocked after receiving call of his massive $1million windfall while sitting next to his boss

An Aussie worker has revealed the incredible moment they received a call they had won the Lotto while they were sitting next to their boss.

The Darwin man had entered the Monday and Wednesday draw and was among three winners drawn on Monday.

The man had no idea he had won until he received a call while he was on his office sitting next to his boss on Tuesday.

He said he thought the call could be a scam and put his phone on loudspeaker, before quickly turning it off when he realised it was legitimate.

The $3million prize pool was equally divided among the winners meaning the man had instantly won $1million. 

'That’s unreal. I’m stoked!' he said. 

'I’m at work, and when you called, I was sitting next to my boss. 

'I thought maybe it was a scam call, so I had it on speaker. I quickly turned it off speaker and now here we are!' 

The man who regularly plays Lotto using the same numbers he picked many years ago, credited his dad for the win. 

'Dad got me into lotteries and Instant Scratch-Its tickets – I’ve got him to thank!' he said.

'It might be hard to concentrate today.'

With a seven-figure bank account, the winner could be forgiven for spending up big on luxury items. 

He instead plans to purchase a property and enjoy a “celebratory drink".

The win has added to the 87 individuals who became millionaires through Monday & Wednesday Lotto this year alone, collecting a total of $93 million in winnings.
