Dave Portnoy has revealed the mistake he'll never make again after getting lost at sea off the island of Nantucket.
The Barstool Sports founder detailed in a video shared to X how he had to be rescued by the Coast Guard after his boat drifted out to sea with 'no power, no radio, no anchor, no nothing.'
And moving forward, Portnoy will make sure to do one very important thing when he unlocks his boat from its buoys.
'A lot of people said 'Rookie move, the first thing you do is you turn the boat on before you untether,'' he said on his BFFs podcast.
'But Captain Dave will never make that mistake again. I'll turn the boat on before I untether.'
Dave Portnoy recounted his 'scary' incident at sea on a new episode of his BFFs podcast
Portnoy wasn't quite sure whether he consciously untethered the boat or if the buoys broke, saying there had been some 'he said, she said' on the matter.
Nonetheless, he admitted that the incident was 'scary' as he was 'probably adrift for an hour.'
Portnoy said it was only the third time that he had been on the boat, as he described himself as 'not like, this crazy boat-savvy guy.'
He added that he sent a 'strongly-worded' text message to the people who sold him the boat.
As he described on Monday, Portnoy set off a distress flare before a woman boarded his boat to help.

She managed to contact the Coast Guard and help get the media mogul to safety.
'Captain Dave had to be halfway to f*****g the Caribbean,' he said in the video.
He added earlier, 'your boys almost lost Captain Dave today.'
Portnoy had planned to take his parents for a boat ride before things went south.
